Natural Burial
Good for the soil
At Walawaani Way we offer the purchase of a Right of Burial/Interment right. Ground conditions, the passage of time, tree growth or changes in circumstances allow us to offer to you or your family a choice of three burial sites up to one month before the interment. We encourage you and your representatives to come experience Walawaani Way to select the burial site.
All our Right of Burial offerings are Perpetual Interment Rights - your burial plot will be left undisturbed in perpetuity.

We assist and guide families managing death, or individuals anticipating / planning for end of life, to return to nature in the most respectful way.
For families, we encourage participation in the burial itself but it is not a requirement. For instance, you could tend the body through washing and dressing - a beautiful way to be with that person for the last time. Family can decorate the casket – children in particular always love this. Lowering the body into the earth, then placing soil on top, is always a significant moment of goodbye. And the planting and tending of the trees/plants of the plot, watching them flourish, may bring a sense of strength and growth. These may be ways for you to celebrate a person’s life, and death, and their journey into the next phase, whatever you may see that to be.
A gift to Planet Earth – that is how many people around the world see the option of being buried ‘naturally’, contributing through their bodies to the health of the planet, leaving a positive legacy for Earth. The current, usual, end-of-life options do not provide benefits to the planet, and sometimes cause harm. People - for the first time in Australia - can be a part of creating 18ha of protected forest/bushland, providing much-needed habitat for native species, and not contributing to climate change or pollution in any way.

“As living beings, all of us are connected to nature, no matter who we are, what our beliefs are, or where we come from. It is fundamental to our very existence, in life and death.”
